One Month to Live: Book Review in Practice Day 1

So the self-help junkie strikes again! I have a new 30-day self-improvement program I plan to follow. Its called One Month to Live: Thirty Days to a No-Regrets Life by Kerry and Chris Shook. I think the title of the book is pretty self-explanatory. So whenever they have little exercises in the book. I’m going to type my responses here. Today is actually day two, but my lazy butt didn’t write up my responses from day one yet. So lucky you! You’ll get two entries today.

Day 1

The Five things I would like to change about my life are:

  1. I would like to be more productive, and less lazy.
  2. I would like to accomplish the goals I set out to achieve
  3. I would like to have more and better friends
  4. I would like to get out of the house more, do more activities and have more fun
  5. Travel and see the world

How I would like my life to be different after this book?

I would like to be happier, and less fearful.   I don’t want to look back every day thinking:  I can’t believe I didn’t get anything done today.  I want to feel tired at the end of the day because I did something, not because I’m too lazy to do something.  I feel that if I reach my goals I will be way happier because I would be leading a productive life, not a lazy one.

I decided to start this program because I’m not really that happy.  Every day I’m reminded that life is fragile and could end at any moment. And when I die I want to be okay with it because I’d know didn’t waste the life I was given.

And finally, I told my boyfriend that I was doing this program.

Well actually, I asked him if he wanted to do it with me.  He politely declined.  I’ll remind him about it later today and tell him to pay attention to how I change over the course of the next month.
